Linda Cureton
CIO, NASA GoddardMs. Linda Y. Cureton is the Director of the Information Technology and Communications Directorate and the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). As the CIO, Ms. Cureton is responsible for ensuring that GSFC's information assets are acquired and managed consistent with Agency and Federal Government policies. She is responsible for ensuring that the Center's Information Technology strategy aligns with NASA's vision, mission, and strategic goals. The Information Technology and Communications Directorate: provides the information infrastructure and tools that effectively and securely support management, science, research, and technology programs; develops, implements, and operates specialized IT systems to support mission planning and operation; and provides systems that disseminate information to the public and that preserve NASA's information assets.
Prior to her arrival at GSFC, Ms. Cureton was the Deputy Assistant Director for the Office of Science and Technology and the Deputy Chief Information Officer at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF). The Office of Science and Technology is responsible for providing leadership in the innovative and efficient application of science and technology used to collect, clarify, and communicate information needed to reduce violent crime, collect revenue and protect the public. As the ATF Deputy CIO, she was responsible for ensuring that the use of Information Technology for the Bureau's mission and business requirements fulfill customer and stakeholder needs.
Previously, Ms. Cureton served as Associate CIO, Acting Deputy CIO, and Acting CIO of the Department of Energy. There, she had a broad range of responsibilities including: strategic planning, network and information security, information architecture, capital planning and IT investment, network and telecommunications services, operational support of voice, data, video, LAN/WAN, and computer systems, and application development and maintenance for corporate systems.
Ms. Cureton also served the Department of Justice in the Justice Management Division and was responsible for managing the Department of Justice Data Centers, which supported mission critical computing requirements for the Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Prisons, and the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
As a strong advocate for the practical application of technology, she serves as a member of organizations such as the Government Information Technology Investment Council, the American Council for Technology, and Women in Technology.
Ms. Cureton earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Howard University in 1980 graduating magna cum laude with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Latin. She also received a Master of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University in 1994, and a Post-Master's Advanced Certificate in Applied Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University in 1996. She performed extensive research in numerical analysis and has been published in the "Journal of Sound and Vibration."
David Ferre
Senior Product Manager, Endpoint Security at NovellDavid Ferre is senior product manager of endpoint security for the Systems & Resource Management (ZENworks) business unit within Novell. The business unit is responsible for developing enterprise systems management from the desktop to the data center.
With over 12 years experience in the software industry and more than 14 years in IT, he has worked in various roles including product management, sales, marketing, and services. David also taught advanced security classes at Neumont University.
David is a graduate of David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah with a BS in Accounting and has also completed various industry certifications.

Jack Gold

Marne Gordon
GRC Market Manager, Tivoli Software Division, IBMMarne Gordan is the GRC Market Manager for IBM’s Tivoli Software Division, where she is responsible for maintaining intelligence on prevalent regulations and standards related to information security and IT governance. Previously, Ms. Gordan was Director of Regulatory Affairs for Cybertrust, where she built the information security and privacy compliance practice and managed industry relations in financial services and healthcare, as well as the Federal Government and International markets. With over 10 years of experience in electronic and retail banking, Ms. Gordan began her career with America’s Community Bankers, managing industry relations for its for-profit subsidiaries. Prior to joining Cybertrust, she developed the Internet banking product line at the STAR EFT Network, developing secure Web sites and integrated home banking programs for small banks and credit unions. Ms. Gordan is a qualified provisional BS7799 information security auditor.

Phil Hochmuth
Senior Analyst, Enterprise Research, Yankee GroupPhil Hochmuth is a senior analyst in Yankee Group's Enterprise Research group, with expertise in network security hardware and software, network access control technologies, network infrastructure, and mobile security. Prior to Yankee Group, Hochmuth was a senior editor at Network World magazine, covering enterprise routing and switching, WLANs, VoIP, and open-source software. He also served as a systems integrator for a New Hampshire-based VAR, installing networks and prepress systems for clients in the newspaper and publishing industry.

Russ McRee

Mr. McRee conducts constant vulnerability and malware research, wrestling with the challenges of Web application security and new ways to interpret malicious network traffic. Peter Tippett
Vice President Research and Intelligence – Security Solutions, Verizon BusinessDr. Peter Tippett is Vice President of Research and Intelligence – Security Solutions for Verizon Business, and is the Chief Scientist of the security product testing and certification organization, ICSA Labs. An information security pioneer, Tippett has led the computer security industry for more than 20 years, initially as a vendor of security products, and over the past 15 years, as a key strategist. He is widely credited with creating the first commercial antivirus product that later became Norton AntiVirus.Tippett is best known for his creation of enterprise risk metrics, and large risk intelligence and compliance management programs for enterprises.
Tippett took up his current role at Verizon following the 2007 acquisition of security specialist Cybertrust by Verizon Business. At Cybertrust, Tippett was the Chief Technical Officer, and was instrumental in developing the Cybertrust Security Management Program, which has served over 1,000 organizations for 11 years. He was also Chairman of MD-IT, an intelligent transcription company.
Before Cybertrust, Tippett was the CEO of the NCSA, then ICSA Labs, and was Chairman of TruSecure, the largest private U.S. security services company. In the early 1990s he directed the Enterprise and Security products group at Symantec. In addition to start-up and CEO positions, Tippett has led large software development, product management, production labs, technology research, and intelligence teams in his business career.
Early in his IT career, when he was founder and CEO of software company Certus International, Tippett pioneered and commercialized a string of now-common technologies, including what is now called the "rescue disk," code signing (hashing for execution control), trusted file execution, anomaly detection, and aspects of mail merge and the "un-do" command.
Tippett recently served on the President's Information Technology Advisory Committee (PITAC) to guide U.S. efforts in healthcare IT, information security, and computational sciences research. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Kalamazoo College, and holds a Doctor of Medicine Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University. He has worked as an emergency room doctor and as a helicopter emergency physician in both Ohio and California. He still carries a current California physician and surgeon license.
